Could be worse, some of the Thorn EMi sets use am FM module that bolts onto the chassis, you then wire up the various connections and drawstrings. Only probs with the module are the 820k resistors, they go high in value and totally kill the FM module. To fix, you just cannot pop the can cover off and replace, oh no, you've got to physically disconnect the module from the set and get it on a bench to do it. Last one I done needed the string for the tuning slugs replaced at the same time and it's a devil of a job to get the distance between the two slugs the correct length.
