As you've progressed with this project, you've had to work things out as you've gone along - you didn't have the luxury of following someone elses design, simply drawing up a parts list of modern components and ordering them from a supplier, which - apart from the high cost - would have taken all the fun out of the project. It's a real credit to you that you've managed to get this far, and without a proper workshop or very much space in which to work.
