Hi Jim,
Thanks for the write-up.
You may have noticed on reading your post that the pic is missing.
To attach a pic, if you click on 'Preview Post', then next to 'New Attachment' click on 'Browse' then select the pic from wherever its stored on your computer ('My Pictures' etc), then on the far right, click on 'Add Attachment'. Then wait a few moments while it's added. Then if it's attached OK, on the LH side of the screen below 'New Attachment' the title of the attachment should be shown. If you then click on 'Preview Post' you should see your text and your pic will be shown at the bottom as a little box with a cross in it. Unfortunately, you can't see the pic until you've posted the message, but you know what it looks like anyway. When you click on 'Post Reply' you can then see if the pic has attached OK.
Hope that helps a bit. It sounds more of a faff than it is!
Excellent 15-page data sheet - probably one of the best I've seen. No dial cord stringing pic though, and always, they make it sound a doddle to re-string! That said, it doesn't say 'two turns' or any other complications. To set the pointer it simply says: 'Turn the tuning control to the left until the stop is reached, and slide the pointer trolley down the cord until the pointer covers the end lines (550m)'. No doubt that's what you've done, so it's one of life's mysteries why it would travel the full range of the dial.
Best of luck with the restoration Jim.
