I am slightly puzzled, you say that your grandfather was the youngest of seven brothers and his mother did not want him to go down the pit. You then mention your father as getting Spanish Flu whist working at a Bean car plant in 1920's. (i.e not in the pits). Was that your Grandfather or Father?.
