They are really very pricey - over 3 x the cost the of the Crucial cache (for the smallest of the OCZ RevoDrives) and 2.5 to 3x the cost of a similar sized normal (i.e. SATA-interfaced) SSD.

Do you really really need 130,000 IOPS and 800-1000GB/s transfer speeds? The only applications that I can think of that might require that are very high-end video processing and humungous database applications. OCZ themselves say that in practice the CPUs can't handle the throughput... even the extremely high-end commercial FX eCom servers (fabric-connected HP blades) I run as part of my day job have nowhere near that requirement...

EDIT: Just noticed that OCZ are now recommending a dedicated fan for any RevoDrive !
