Hello Colin, I've fitted a garden tractor magnetic clutch to a lathe in the past and all went well,with some adapting as you have had to do. I note you have a Myford in parts ready for assembly. I made a clutch for an ML 7 which was an article in an early Model Engineer Workshop, before it became a CNC magazine, non of that stopping and starting the motor. I still have the details,basically its copying Myford clutch idea. A friend who has a MLR 7 has also copied the same idea, if you would like copy of clutch drawing and details let me know. Ted
