I shall follow your instructions to remove the handle.
The radio is working well, I've sprayed some deoxit in the pots and on the MW/LW switch and its sound fine. I've tapped (lightly) the AF117 - no noises at all. Once tuned its really good so I am loathe to touch anything component wise even with those horrible black Hunts caps - would you all agree??
With regard to crackles, the culprit is the air tuning cap. In certain positions its really crackly when being moved - any thoughts as it the only thing that needs to be put right.
After the VHF90 this one has been a real pleasure to work on.
