Hi,
My sincere thanks to everyone for your help and advice which I truly appreciate.
I've come to the conclusion after reading all the replies I need to buy the new computer I've been promising myself bringing everything up to date including the graphics which will run 3D without all the hassle.
Although my computer is no better off after playing around for most of the day it is no worse off either and thanks to everyone I've actually learned a lot today.
I was considering buying a new graphics card Al & Nick but looking at the card you suggested Nick which would have sorted the problem out I may as well use this money towards the new computer which to me makes sense.
I was surprised to see the date 02/11/04 on my graphics driver so it will never cope well with 3D in fact it isn't coping at all and perhaps this is the reason I'm having so much trouble viewing "You Tube".
This computer has served me very well indeed but as I hope to get more involved with 3D graphics I don't mind spending the money to upgrade (Don't tell anyone about this though).
I've wanted a Dell for years so their profits will soon increase and I'll surf their site to see what's on offer.
Rather than waste everyone's time trying to help me with this computer may I please ask for suggestions as to what computer to upgrade to £400/£500 isn't a problem and I already have the new 23" monitor which hopefully will serve? Not sure of the monitor connection Nick as it's a big job pulling the desk out to get to it but I suspect as you do it will be the older VGA type although when I bought the monitor it stated VGA/HDMI I'm unfamiliar with such things.
My current monitor is set at 1024 x 768 and colour at highest 32bit.
Thanks again everyone.
Kind regards, Col.
