Hmmm. What resolution are you driving the screen at - (X,Y & colour depth?).
The on-board chipset is very basic indeed. You need DirectX/OpenGL support for eMachineshop and I'm not sure that base chipset is fully supported by the latest version - you may need an AGP 8x video card (8x is the fastest that the AGP port on that motherboard will run) - e.g. something like http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-geforc...-84XZ.html
Trying to use any recent CAD software without h/w that supports DirectX 9.x or OpenGL 2.x may well be tricky. Your screen needs to support DVI-D or similar as all modern video cards are connect by DVI or better, not VGA

emachineshop don't seem to give a base hardware requirement on their website - they just specify o/s support which is about as much use as a chocolate teapot...
Piriform Speccy will give you the BIOS version without hassle - BIOS version 1005 is listed on the support download page for your motherboard as I mentioned above at http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Soc.../#download - what BIOS version do you currently have?
With the screen you are using, I suspect you are still using the old VGA D connector - is that the case?
