Hi,
My computer only had 500M ram Joe so I bought 1G through eBay and added it hence the 1.5G.
Thanks for the link Al, I'll have a look.
I printed Nick's details and have been working through best I could but regarding the Bios Number I've no chance of spotting it during boot up as the screen disappears in a blink; I even tried booting in safe mode but so far unsuccessful in the hope of obtaining the Bios number. I've also been having a look in Device Manager and found a Bios reference 0002?
Out of curiosity I also loaded the motherboard CD to view the graphics obtaining the graphic driver which I surfed the web with. I might have uncovered a clue as to the problem as I installed a brand new LG Flatron IPS235 flat screen monitor a while ago and thinking back this could have been when the problem started.
I've spent a while being nosy and have found that the problem might lay with the monitor's resolution as the graphics driver is outdated? I followed advice and did this;
Control; Display; Settings; Advanced; Administrator; Product information; VBIOS information and found this to be 2.03.00.
I need to update to at least 2.28.00
I then visited the ASUS site to update but had to stop as I don't know the Bios number for the motherboard and perhaps this is what Nick had in mind when requesting the BIOS number? As I say; I know little about computers but once I come across a problem with anything I treat it as a challenge and never know when to quit. I'm learning all he time and finding places in the computer I never knew existed. I'm not bored. I need to find the BIOS number.
Kind regards, Col.
