PCI Simple Communications Controller.

Hi,

I'm suffering computer problems and hope you members who are clued up can please help.

I run Windows XP Home Edition with ASUS A7S8X-MX motherboard and generally the computer works fine. When I view You Tube videos the audio is breaking up as it does when I try to listen to an E greetings card. Additionally when I try to transfer CAD drawings to MY Pictures or MY Documents it fails.

After a lot of playing around I've now found a dreaded yellow question mark in "Devices" PCI Simple Communications Controller. I don't know what this device is (Marked Unknown) but under properties it gives the following details;

PCI\VEN_14F17DEV_10B4 & SUBSYS_9300141D & REV_89\3 & 61AAA01&0&48

I have the correct motherboard drivers but a free scan states these are out of date but updates are available if I subscribe.

Can anyone please suggest an easy fix; I'm not a computer geek so don't worry about treating me like a novice.

It's very frustrating because after years of being useless using CAD I've now not only drawn in 2D but would like to post a 3D drawing I did yesterday.
