However...
This "drop" was classed by NASA as an "anomaly" - it cost USD 135 MILLION to repair the satellite. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NOAA-19
Problem occurred because the satellite was supposed to be bolted to its platform so that it could be tilted to be worked on - unfortunately, the "pre-tilt" safety procedure didn't involve checking the bolts, 24 of which, unfortunately, had been borrowed for use on another project... a definite career-limiting exercise...
