Today I finished of the polishing stages by lightly rubbing the cabinet with 0000 wire wool to "cut" the surface of the polish, Which had been left hardening for just under a week.
Having done this the cabinet was then treated to a coat of burnishing cream. Once this had dried it was polished off with a cotton cloth.
The new speaker cloth and board were fitted along with the escutcheon.
Some photos .........

Now I have to work out how the dial glass is kept in place.
There are little brass holders, (one is missing), but is there something that sits between these and the glass, or between the cabinet and the glass? Anyone any ideas?
I also have the card back for the set, but this only covers the top half of the chassis (the psu part) and can not for the life of me remember if there is a wooden framed back for the bottom half!
cheers Mark
