Hi Joe, two methods come to mind, substitute speaker with a dummy load of the correct value and measure across that, Avo set to AC and 10v for starters.
The other way is to monitor the main AGC rail, Avo set to DC and 10v for starters +ve lead to deck, -ve lead to AGC diode anode.
A valve voltmeter would be better if you have one, you can also use a 'scope, but you can do it with a standard Avo, done it lots of times, it's more accurate than doing it by ear.
