Hi Al, the 6K8 in Joe's last picture is I think the one in the full screening can, it's top cap lead (signal grid) appears to connect directly to one section of the tuning gang as per circuit, what I was saying was the valve in front of that seems a funny place to put the det. valve (shown on Joes last layout diag.) that space seems more appropriate for the RF amp valve, the valve fitted in that place would appear to have its grid also going to a section of the tuning gang but possibly via a mica capacitor (as shown in the RF stage circuit) what valve is actually fitted in that space I know not but I was just guessing it should be an EF39 type.
