I've now had a look at both sets and came to that conclusion as one of them hasn't got enough terminals to be a transformer.
The PCR3 must have been 'got at' a good while ago as there are loads of Metalmites and those black and red Plessey electrolytics in it. There's also a bracket under the chassis with two pots on so working out what's what will take a while, especially as I don't have a layout diagram.
The PCR2 looks untouched within. A quick poke with the continuity tester shows all the caps are shot, including the reservoir and smoother. It doesn't look difficult to sort out though. Famous last words...
They should certainly keep me amused for a while.
