Lawrence, I've never used plastic lumber before, but I've seen it used for park benches which are out in the weather, and fendering around wharfs and jetties. It looks like it will just sit there forever! It is considerably dearer than wood, though.

One shed firm I've spotted with a local branch is this one -

They aren't cheap, but then you generally get what you pay for in this life. I've not been to have a look at them yet, but their specs seem to be very good, using pressure-impregnated timber (although I can't spot the word 'tanalised' on their website).

I would add insulation and lining myself.

Ah, got the picture now, if that crowd make sheds and bespoke sheds then I would say they know what they are doing, initially I had it in my head that it was going to be a cheapo DIY chain store job with a bench a vice and a hammer. I agree, you will only get what you pay for, as said never used the plastic timber but have seen it in use down here, as yours will in general be mainly protected from UV then I too would say it would last a long long time. Good luck with it all Andy, I like to see someone getting on with the job.
Tanalised is/used to be a reg. trade mark, there are many other pressure treatments equally as good. I think the original formulas have been changed over the years to meet environmental requirements.
