The FAZ processes thet signal to extract the af. It doesn't need anything else, although you do connect the B40/41 Audio to it so that it can be 'passed through'.
I have the manual, downloaded from the WS19 website.
The biggest problem I suspect would be finding an FAZ. I haven't seen one for some time.

Alan I'm confused now, I was meaning using a Racal RA218 SSB adaptor with the B40, I have both of the aforementioned.
