I know not Lawrence. The last (and only) time I tried to 'get serious' with a DAC 90 was about 35 years ago, long before they became so avidly sought after. It had had a serious attack of the dreaded 'green spot' in the I.F. cans. And that might have been on account of the previous owner who used to use it in his leaky, draughty, ramshackle garden shed, built out of bits of wooden pallet and sheets of rusty corrugated iron sheet, salvaged from an old WW2 Anderson Shelter. Anyway, I tried to persevere with it (the radio, not the shed) - trying substitute I.F. cans, etc. - but all to no avail: it was scrapped for the bits. Heaven only knows where those bits are now - probably in the bottom of the ubiquitous 'junk box'.
But with a little bit of work, I reckon a DAC 90 could be 'converted' into a useful 'pantry transmitter'. Now there's a thought for a winter project . . . .
