Basically, the way the player is now is exactly as it was made, except for the modern mains lead(and new reservoir/smoothing capacitor)The record deck metalwork is totally isolated from the mains and the P.U. arm is Plastic. As stated in an earlier post, the control spindles are also plastic, and no part of the amplifier chassis(which is common to both DC Negative and mains neutral) can be touched unless the player is dismantled.
