I've finally made a halfway-decent pen mandrel:-
It's basically a bit of M6 studding with home-turned bushings. The the yellow is a bit of heatshrink which makes a nice snug fit inside the pen barrels being turned.
It's certainly much easier when using that and the making of these two went very smoothly:-
It can also be quickly re-configured as a faceplate:-
It's keeps me out of both mischief and the rain.
