The 'Westminster' circuit is almost identical to the one you posted, Joe, but there are NO isolating capacitors anywhere in it. The screened lead from the P.U. is earthed to the amplifier chassis, but isn't earthed at the deck end. Other than the fact that the Westminster makes use of the 90v tap(white lead) on the motor winding to power the valve heaters there are no other significant differences. It seems the owner fitted a 3-core mains cable because he had read on the internet that 'fitting a mains earth will stop the hum!!' (Don't know where he read that)
Incidentally I assume, since this player is a WESTMINSTER Fidelity it was made for Curry's.
NB No doubt isolating capacitors could easily be added to this player, though, as far as I can tell, it never had any in the first place, so it's been working for maybe 50 years without them.
