I haven't got any great metal-turning projects in mind but it will be nice to do things like the upright of the tool rest out of a solid piece and turn the bottom down and cut a thread directly onto it.
I do want to have a go at AVO-style test prods and some type of wander plugs. These could be based on split pins but they'd still need some sort of handle turning.
