I gave the cab a shine and re-painted the stripes. I was aiming for a 'not quite new' look.

That's looking really good! The bakelite has come up a treat and the new paint work is excellent.

As you will be aware, there are many colour schemes for the Super Groom ranging from red paint work/knobs to a variety of whites/creams and shades of gold.

My particluar set has a good deal of its original paint intact and in its uncleaned state looks a dull gold. I will see what it comes up like with all the dirt removed, but at present it appears some of that antique gold 'leafing' type of paint will be a good match.
