I gave the cab a shine and re-painted the stripes. I was aiming for a 'not quite new' look. I mixed a few cc's of white with a few drops of brown and a tiny smidgen of yellow to give me an off white that looks a bit aged. It looks pure white against the bakelite but close up it looks OK. I'm reasonable happy with the result. It took a full day to get it done. I painted all the grooves then had to 'scrape' off the excess and generally tidy it up. Not sure I'd be keen to do another paint job like this.
Now I can see about making a back for it.
