Hi,
Many thanks for sharing this interesting story with us David. The chair is simply wonderful and the Elm seat is stunning with its marvellous grain. The turning is crisp and to a pleasant design. This is a chair to be proud of and will survive for many generations. I bet it still gives you a buzz every time you look at it. What finish did you use?
Stamping your details into the seat edge is a nice detail; do you own a letter/number stamp set?
I doubt very much Jennifer has much prodding to do to get you to tidy up as your workshop is a model of tidiness in fact your lovely Lorch lathe looks like it never gets used but is polished on a regular basis.
Bron and I cherish the turned items you kindly gave us and they are on display in our front room. It's only a few days ago that Bron was showing friends the delightful burr pencil container you so generously made for my new computer desk.
Kind regards, Col.

Happiness is a wreck of a cabinet to restore.
