If you think about a set like this in blocks ie power suppy /sound stage/timebase/video. they are not that bad.
if you look at the circuit you will be amazed at how little there is.
even compaired to some multi band radios,
also you have a display that tells you wich part of the set is faulty ie line across the screen head for the frame stage.
no sound and blank rasta = tuner or first if stage. ect
this does not apply to later dual standard or 625 line uhf sets.
dont be scared of 405 line tv's even i could repair them.
