Hi Rob, well as you know I'm from the 'Col' school when it comes to cabs so I'd strip it and re-finish. If the finish is suitably hard then you could try a mildly abrasive polish and see how it comes up. If it responds well then you could give it a final gloss polish to help it look its best. That green paint seems to have been the major problem. You could also try some acetone and just get those top sections down to bare wood then add a few coats of shellac - the challenge would be to blend it with the rest of the finish.
