I've now collected my booty.
The transistor sets are:-
Green Roberts R200: broken handle and no battery snaps. It's also a late one so no doubt has dodgy AF117s.
Bush VTR330: No handle but looks OK otherwise, including the aerial.
Defiant: Unknown model but with flat PP11.
Perdio Challenge: Broken handle.
Good Companion: Has a toggle switch on the back connected to the positive battery lead. No sign of the negative one.
Philco Ford T162X HG: Should run on 3V but has got a PP3 in.
Hacker Sovereign II: Fantastic condition - wrong speaker, no handle or back grill, broken aerial, scuffed rexine. In other words ripe for improvement.
The GEC valve set is a BC5842. First thing with that will be changing the mains lead.
I've stuck some juice up the Mayflower and that works, though I couldn't resolve the Light Programme, probably an aerial problem. It got the Third OK and the tuning indicator is nice and bright. I daren't leave it on for long before properly looking at it. Cosmetically it just wants a polish.
The next job will be trying to make room to manoeuvre.
