have found a photo of the insides
i would bet on mechanical noise. it looks like it was made for a seperate transformer
that was just screwed to the chip board cabinet a bit cheep and nasty.

The front plastic cover was pushed into holes in the box.
I can now confirm that the inside does look like your pic.
now where do i start?The tranformer is fixed to a block and the to the box.If this is the cause i can unscrew it and deaden the vibrations .But what material should i use.or could the problem be with the borad?
