Cheers, John
I've no idea John, but in a similar vein, I'd be interested to know how many hobbyists have needlessly replaced the dual can in Bush DAC90As believing that they were the source of hum, when the culprit was actually the UL41 output valve. Despite the fact that many 'restorers' just plug in a DAC90A to 'see if it works' it seems not to be to the detriment of the smoothers, which seem to be particularly reliable in DAC90As. Nice little earner for the BVWS supplying new caps to those who don't actually need them but think they do!
In the case of the Noble and Princess, the leakage on the caps reduced markedly over the space of several hours, and I think that's kinder to them, and more likely to prolong their lives that the 'plug it in an see what happens' approach. The reality now of course is that the next phase of the lives of those 'twins' will be to languish on a display shelf alongside others in my collection.
