Indeed so, but then there were a lot of Colour TVs that needed 'Setting up'.
One thing crossed my mine: Should we have a loan system? A lot of gear spends nearly all of its time idle, so if someone else wanted to borrow something it probably wouldn't pose a problem. Of course there's be transport problems, but this, and the RBM one, are pretty light.
