Great project - looks like this will be a serious piece of furniture. Not like the hasty desk I put together over a weekend - functional but nothing to look at as I'm sure you'll all agree


On the biscuit topic, I'd say that since biscuits come in standard sizes, their use implies certain minimum dimensions for the project at hand. Where the dimensions are large enough then they're great for ensuring accurate surface registration.

That's a very useful link - the swelling aspect of the biscuits had never occurred to me. I always put glue on the biscuits and assume that's the correct thing to do. When the advice at the link says not to do so, I wonder if that just applies to narrow timber, where addidng glue may lead to swelling?

Your desk looks fine John, but I'm curious as to what is lurking just beneath the desktop, below the monitor/keyboard!
