What a great idea!
It's evident that there's a lot of interest in this - a topic that most of us would find more than a little scary, and would shy away from, myself included. It takes someone with Colin's tenacity, determination and pioneering sprit to embark on such a project and see it through to the end, as indeed he did. To be able to show the DVD with Doug's permission, and for Colin to relate his own personal experiences, with a system that he's had in use for some time now will be fascinating, whether or not we may wish to embark on that ourselves. I just don't have the space for any more machinery, but 'Big Al' has some seriously humongous kit which might well benefit from 3-phase! Some of us, including Joe and Alan have seen Colin's system in use, and it's certainly impressive. Were I to embark upon it, I think I'd be too scared to throw the switch in case I plunge the district into darkness! I've no doubt that Colin was relieved when the 'moment of truth' arrived and the system functioned faultlessly!
Ed Dinning has already said he'd be interested in a 3-phase 'teach in session' at Golborne too I believe.
Another month and the nights will be drawing in, so thoughts will soon turn to the Autumn Swapmeet!
