Remember Win 3.1? Happy pre-internet days!
I built my first PC about 1993 and recall a chum who said 'Dont bother with a 42mB hard drive - go for a 105mB and get yourself the full 4mB of RAM he said and you'll be future roof'. Hah! Just another example to confirm that when you stare into crystal balls you see more balls than crystals. The Hard drive was £170 (equates to £260 at today's prices), and the RAM was £28 per mB - £112 in total = £170 at todays prices. (Could we ever have imagined that an 8gB flash drive that fits in your pocket would cost less than a fiver?).
W8 is imminent then no doubt before too long, W7 will pass into history. W8 seems to pander to the whims of the 'IpPad' fraternity and other tablet users, with its 'tile' appearance and touch-screen technology. I couldn't be less interested.
