Hello Alan, my CR00/1 is working and so far as I can ascertain it's not that far off spec. as I said previously most of the caps have been snipped one end and temp. close equivelents tacked in until I find time to do it proper, I have the correct power supply for this set but am missing the connector plug and lead that connects the power supply to the receiver.
The local osc temperature compensator is basically two metal plates seperated by an air gap like a small pf capacitor, it is connected to the osc. circuit, fixed adjoining one of the plates is a high value resistor that is connected directly across HT, as this heats up it changes the capacitor value, simple but effective.
