I looked at the photos. of the chassis underneath: remarkably well built for a domestic wireless of its period: group boards and screened compartments for the R.F. circuitry. And a 3-gang tuning condenser: very good. Having the mains xformer towards the front of the chassis is unusual too.
Something tells me that in its day, this set wasn't cheap . . . .
