Hi Paul, it was nicotene covered inside, as brown as brown can be, it nearly went into the dishwasher, but i guess that would have finished it, its good for tuning caps and other bits you want cleaned but ift,s dont like it i guess even after drying fully the fine litz wire inside corrodes.....Alan
