I'm the girl who worked with Mike to crack the Xbox eeprom motherboard/hdd security locking system back in the mid 00's.. We homebrewed up a reader (which could also write) for i2c eeproms.. little 8 legged bugs, straight out of the serial port. Some wires and a couple of zenners to limit the 12v available to 5v.
