Same old prob, the higher up's say "keep thinning the metal down, got to save weight", and she's duly adjust the tolerances in the DTP software and off the parts would go again. She remarked to me that if they shaved any more metal off the fitting the tensile strength would be lost.
Guess what part she was working on? Yup, leading edge of the wing, the very same bit that is showing fatigue cracking on the "in service" planes. Guess they shaved just a bit too much meat off the casting.
