Thanks for the reply Paul and top marks to your wife for taking up a proper job. There appears to be little proper training for anyone these days; it's time apprenticeships were brought back and factories re-stocked with machinery before we lose our manufacturing base forever.
Is woodworking/metalworking taught to boys in schools these days and is needlework and domestic science taught to the girls? It's so long ago that I attended school I'm totally out of touch with what is going on.
