The jig is great David. A very neat setup and excellent end result. Once again a member who goes the extra mile. Pics are worth a 1000 words once again. Some of my backs have been made with artist's board and a set of metal punches. They are not at all like the original and the holes get a little depressed when the punches get tired. I will try it your way next time I need to make one.
But now a question. Unlike Retired I find routers pretty scary and use mine set in a table, bit upwards. I could use it like you have done, in fact its the same machine. But how do you get it started without splintering the first hole? I seem to remember that the depth has to be set and the side locking lever holds it at that. Leastwise thats how I do it with it set in my table.
If you dont use the locking lever I guess you must set the max depth, on the not very accurate depth setting device, and then push the cutter down with the side handles... I think its coming to me!!
But you dont seem to have scored the jig by going too far and I would have thought the depth setting device was not good enough for that not to have happened.
