Hi,
Over the last couple of days I've been doing my impersonation of Luke Skywalker with his light sabre; my light sabre being a much more powerful pressure washer.
Yesterday I wanted to make a start on pressure washing the roof but it was too windy so I attacked the decking to the front of the bungalow. This decking runs the full length of the bungalow at 40' so it took a while but the result was well worth the effort; in the wind it dried very quickly and I hope to treat it with preservative in the near future.
Decking before and after pressure washing.
You were so right Gary about pressure washing the roof being a messy job. This morning the wind had dropped leaving just a breeze and the sun was shining so I was out early and got everything set up for a long session with the pressure washer. I knew the roof had become very dirty but I was surprised just how dirty it was and the pictures tell the story. The section of the roof that had been under the overhanging Scots Pine was by far the worst with all kinds of strange life growing on it. I'm truly astounded by the difference after pressure washing; the roof looks like brand new; I completed the entire back section of the roof and thought I was cleaning a football pitch. I bet the neighbours think I'm taking spring cleaning to the limit but I've got a new toy and it has already earned it's keep. I'm unable to take a picture of the full roof as the sun is shining directly into the camera.
Roof before and after pressure washing.
Bron has never been surprised by what I do around home but she looked at the mess I caused with a pained expression; all the dirt and debris from the roof now covered everything below and in places the random stone walls looked like they had suffered a mud slide. This pressure washer is a tremendous bit of kit and soon cleared all the dirt into the garden out of the way leaving just the windows to clean.
It's taken all day to do the rear of the roof and it's a shame not to treat the front in like manner so something to look forward to; I need to do this though before treating the decking.
This machine is pure joy to own and use; I can highly recommend pressure washing as it is such fun with outstanding results; Bron is delighted by my efforts.
Kind regards, Col.

Happiness is a wreck of a cabinet to restore.
