SDR receivers

I can recomend the following group if anyone is intersted in SDR but are not sure of what's what, the people on there are really helpfull. After joining and getting advice from them I have decided to obtain at some point a low cost SDR like the Softrock and give it a go, then once familiar with it I will attempt a valve front end hybrid job, I might consider building from scratch using the Tayloe switching mixer idea, the circuit I have found only uses 6 cheapo logic IC's and a handfull of discretes.
