Was thinking on my walk yesterday that's going to be an awfully messy business power washing the roof. Why not just try power brushing? A good stiff bristle broom would remove all the moss and the algea could be left as patina (as they say in the antiques business). It would certainly be a good way to start.
If you then go the washer route it could be worthwhile buying a roll of polythene and maskig up windows and doors.
