You can also knock out mortar from between the slabs and on pavias they drive out all the sand (I dont clean those often). I use one of those rotating brush attachments, it cuts the pressure a litttle and the hood stops the water and dirt going everywhere.
As for doing a roof that to me is over the top... I actually like the algea and moss and anyway this house is too high for such manouvers. Please dont go and paint the tiles Colin ! Thats what people are having done here after cleaning, often in awful colours.
