to test the bulb short it out the mecon board senses the filiment and if oc diables all drives on some vidios a blown bulb will allow rr/ff but not play if bulb or ir diode (check ir diode by using a digital camera) is faulty head fore the mode switch on the vt33 they can be cleaned.
ps the bulb should be9volt 80ma
also i think the vt 33 is the same as a vt 16 not vt11 bulbs ar the same mode switches are not

if its made by hand it can be repaired by hand
