Thanks Big Al; the only problem with the rare decent weather we get is that other jobs take priority and once these are done the good weather is gone again.

Many thanks David; I'd wonder what had happened if something actually turned out easy for me and went right at first attempt. Yes the field winding tested OK but I'll only know for certain once the set is eventually fired up for the first time which seems a long way off at the moment. Thank you for your continued encouragement.

I feel quite humbled Tony receiving kind comments from such a well respected restorer as you; thank you so much. I always feel that what I achieve isn't anything special and anyone willing to have a go and put the time in can produce similar work; most of what I do simply comes down to time and patience.

It's much too cold to play around in the workshop or garage so I'm taking stock of everything I have; I'm going to thin my radio collection down and also replace some of my machinery. Hopefully I will be adding more restorations once the weather improves.
