Hello Ed, I would echo Davids thoughts on a 9 meter vertical flu, it seems like a lot of push and pull for exhuast fumes and combustion air, not to mention any poss down draught down the exhaust pipe (inner) that can be caused by the wind. I put in an oil boiler in the old place about five years ago, that was balanced flue, it came up from the top of the boiler for about 800mm then straight out through the wall to the outside air, the wall was 2ft thick granite which was a pain to drill out but the end result was that I could check the balanced flue terminal without having to climb any ladders, if the flue terminal ever gets blocked it can be very dangerous. Good luck whichever way.
