Hello David, I hope they used stainless steel nails with the Paslode Gun anything else will rust out, if the vertical boards or the bottom horizontal rail are not supported with a gravel board or diagonals aren't fitted up to the top rail then the fence will sag over time. The best way to fit posts into an augered hole is with a damp mix, not wet, if a damp mix is used it can be tamped with a tamping bar as you come up the hole with the mix, this packs the mix in absolutely solid round the post, and the post won't rock at all once the mix has gone off, if you use a wet mix you can't tamp it down, it can shrink in the hole.....I used to do a lot of fencing.
